My journey began in 1986 when I entered medical school at Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine. Eventually, I navigated through General Surgery Residency at Loyola University Medical Center and the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo and subsequently started private practice as a solo general surgeon in Ashland, OH in 1996. I ran two offices (one in Ashland, OH and one in Mansfield, OH) and had active privileges at 3 hospitals (Samaritan Hospital in Ashland, OH, Shelby Hospital in Shelby, OH, and Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield, OH).

In 1998, I was named an Outstanding Young Physician by Ohio Medicine (a publication of the Ohio State Medical Association). After 10 years in solo practice, I joined Richland Surgical Associates, a general surgery group practice, in Mansfield, OH, and I am currently employed by OhioHealth Physician Group.

One of my passions is teaching medical students as a faculty member of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM). In 2017, I received the Outstanding Specialty Medicine Physician Award from OUHCOM.

I am a Certified General Surgery Coder (CGSC) and author of two books: Coding Solutions General Surgery and Starting Medical Practice.

I've been fortunate enough to pursue experience and education in a wide variety of fields. I am a Certified General Surgery Coder (CGSC) and received my MBA from the Ohio State University in 2018. Before that, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science at the University of Akron.

I've worked in Human Resources at OhioHealth, and Financial Planning at Indiana University Health. In the last few years, I've focused on my role as Marketing Director and Chief Financial Officer at Coding Solutions with website and podcast deployment.
